Description
The “Bernini” table, designed by Andrea Orsini in 1994 and produced in only three copies, is a work of art-design that combines elegance, solidity and essentiality. Perfect for classic and contemporary furnishings, it stands out for its stability even in outdoor environments and its ideal capacity for ten diners. The top, made of “travertine resin” through a sophisticated casting technique on a silicone mold, is a technological tribute to the tradition of Roman stone, offering a lighter and more structurally stable alternative to natural stone, thanks to an internal armature. Its truncated oval shape was conceived to encourage dialogue between diners, while the two outward-facing triangles on the edges suggest the idea of expansive conviviality. In 1995, the Bernini table was exhibited at the “La Casa Animata” exhibition at the Galleria Cervantes in Piazza Navona, in front of the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi. Measuring 190 x 105 cm and 78 cm high, the removable top weighs 60 kg and is internally reinforced and counter-plated to ensure stability and ease of transport and assembly. The base is in acid-etched and patinated iron, with vengè feet. Designed to last over time, the table is still in excellent condition after thirty years, with only a small, barely visible chip on one foot. The product does not have a visible brand.
