Papavero floor lamp by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni

Papavero floor lamp by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, 1964. It is composed of an opaline glass diffuser, a brushed metal rod and a Carrara marble base. The diffuser is made up of a double blown cap which makes the lampshade soft and refined both outside and inside. The design is minimal but the quality of the materials and light make the object a timeless classic. The object is published in the Domus issue 421 (December 1964), p. 33. Light wear consistent with age and use. The conditions are very good apart from some small chips on the marble base. The defects are highlighted in the photos. In reality the chips are barely visible, also because they are located in the lower part of the base.
