Coronado armchair in light brown by Afra and Tobia Scarpa (80s)

An evergreen classic, an original design from 1966, the Coronado armchair is a symbol of relaxation. Offered with a high backrest, it guarantees maximum comfort thanks to the springing provided by the presence of harmonic steel strips inserted into the structure of the backrest. Its revolutionary charge in terms of design and materials is exemplary of B&B Italia's industrial culture, but its success was determined by its sophisticated aesthetics, a trait d'union between the classicism of period furniture and the need for modernity. An example of 360° design, the Coronado series, which also includes sofas, was born from the proposal to combine the iron frame with the revolutionary technology of cold polyurethane foam in molds, introduced by B&B Italia in the furniture sector. The armchair was purchased new in the 1980s. The structure and padding are in excellent condition. The Alcantara upholstery - a non-woven fabric with a suede effect - shows some signs of wear due to normal use.
