Lybra Shelf 120 shelf by Martinelli&Venezia

Minimalist shape and strong aesthetics, Libra plays with the concept of balance. The metal support wraps the convex base of the wood, deforming and creating a material illusion: in fact, at first glance, it resembles a leather band. The image that inspired the project is the traditional leather book belt used by our grandparents, before the advent of school bags. Made of shaped solid oak, treated with oil and supported by two wrought iron straps. A hidden metal plate welded to the support structure makes the shelf stable and durable. The side edges were damaged during transport; they were smoothed and passed with natural wax.
