The 30s/40s terracotta sculpture was created by the Flemish artist Leopold Van Esbroeck (Londerzeel, 1911). The work depicts a mother and child with delicate attention to detail and a warm color tone. The sculpture demonstrates the technical skill and refinement of the artist, whose work is exhibited in museums in Belgium, including the Musées d'Anvers. Van Esbroeck, also a professor at the Academy of Antwerp, received numerous awards, including the Deuxième Prix de Rome in 1938 and the Prix Godecharle in 1933. The dimensions of the sculpture are: height 56 cm, width 25 cm, depth 21 cm.
