Description
The 321 Hill House square coffee table is a re-edition of an iconic piece designed in 1903 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for the Main Bedroom of Hill House in Helensburgh, Scotland. This piece, produced by Cassina, was made according to data acquired from the original drawing preserved at the Hunterian Art Gallery of the University of Glasgow. Characterized by an essential and elegant design, the table is made of white ash, with a drawer embellished with a mother-of-pearl inlaid knob. The lower structure has a crosspiece with a top also decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays. Originally designed to be placed at the foot of the bed in the Main Bedroom, the table was accompanied by the famous Hill House chair, which has become an icon of Scottish design. The coffee table is in good general condition, with original Cassina coupon and manufacturer's signature with number. There is a mark on the edge of the upper surface.
