Description
Coffee table, by the artist-designer Gio Minelli, made entirely of mirror-polished stainless steel and belonging to the very particular collection called: “Anomalie”. Each piece in this collection has a character in common: the curved, twisting legs. An idea of rebellion but even more perhaps of "liberation" and "independence", an assiduous search for a gesture on the object, in this case the legs, which attempt to free themselves, rising upwards, even breaking through the support surface. Rebellion. Single expressive gesture. The legs accept the function after declaring freedom of choice. Gio Minelli was born in Bergamo on 15 December 1976. During his studies at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts he attended industrial design courses with Davide Boriani and Roberto Semprini. The first projects were born in this period of training, which are placed between the art object and industrial design, unique pieces that will soon be included in the circuit of contemporary art galleries. He was thus invited to important exhibitions and trade fairs in the sector. This path quickly led him to enter the emerging art design segment, making himself noticed and approaching emerging Italian design companies.
