'Face' vase n.3483 Adolf Matura (1970s)

Face vase in pressed glass n. 3483, designed by Adolf Matura in 1972. Produced by Sklo Union, Czechoslovakia, 1970s. Adolf Matura (1921-1979) is of great importance in the history of Czechoslovakian pressed glass. Matura was primarily a glass artist. At the beginning of his career he concentrated on engraved glass in Železny Brod. He later concentrated on tabletop and complementary glass projects. In the mid-1960s he began to devote himself to printed glass. Matura loved figurative work. Among his designs is one of the best vases, the double-sided vase, highly prized by collectors of printed glass. H 23 cm diam. 8.5 cm Condition: excellent, without defects
