The company was founded by Giulio Richard in 1842 and operated under the same name until 1873, when it became the Richard Ceramics Company (which acquired Ginori in 1896). The brand, rarely found, is the crowned monogram JR, Jules Richard, this piece probably made on commission for: Grand Hotel. Out of production
